When it all gets written in the books, the convergence of skateboarding and Hip Hop did not did not begin with Lil’ Wayne and Supra Footwear. After a quick listen to Harold Hunter‘s Zoo York Mixtape Vol.1, there’s no question, the 2 have been down long before Weezy could even spit 4 bars let alone 16.
Through skateboarding and living life to the fullest, Harold Hunter will forever be the epitome of NYC and even more so it’s skateboard scene. He shredded the streets of all 5 boroughs and at the same time played an integral part in the development of the East Coast’s first true skateboarding-inspired lifestyle brand, Zoo York.
Labeled as too racy, this rare capture is one of a few outtakes from a 1996 VIBE Magazine shoot by photographer/director JAMIL GS. This is the pic of the day drop as it immortalizes Harold Hunter in his most preferred element outside of skateboarding. Real Legends Never Die.
