[MORE]]]> 3 minutes from downtown Atlanta, rolling east on Simpson… I’ll accept the #latepass of the year on this. There’s no telling what I was on that would have caused this to fly by, but it did. When I was first contacted by one of the films producers I initially thought “Snow On The Bluff” was another ATL hood movie that was released around 2005 – 06, called the “The Bluff“. Guess what? I WAS DEAD WRONG. Because while “The Bluff” looks like a elementary school student film project shot with a broken vhs recorder, the real movie “Snow on the Bluff“, is actually a entertaining and excellent body of work, that will most likely determine how deep into the westside of Atlanta “the pioneers” will continue to gentrify.

Now I could be wrong, but the The Bluff doesn’t seem like the type of location you can make a movie about unless you’re really from there. And according to folks from there, “The Bluff” 2006 was full of actors. If that’s the case, all hells about to break loose. My man Curtis Snow, star of “Snow On The Bluff”, is not an actor. He’s a southern gentleman who made a movie about his life…

Synopsis: Snow On Tha Bluff is the story of Curtis Snow, an Atlanta robbery boy and crack dealer who steals a video camera from some college kids during a dope deal, and begins documenting his life. At first, it’s business as usual for Curt. He robs dope boys, he runs from the cops, and he sells drugs, all while trying to provide for his baby momma and 2-year-old son. But when one of the rival drug dealers he rips off comes back for revenge, Curt’s life spirals out of control.

This is one of those movies that yokes you. But In an effort to not turn this into a huge movie spoiler, the best way to describe the rest of “Snow on the Bluff” is hood gangster flick meets Paranormal Activity. It walks the fine lines of narrative and documentary film-making to the fullest. And if you think this is another straight to the Texaco DVD section movie…DEAD WRONG. SOTB just racked Best Narrative Film in Chicago, and Best Editing at the Brooklyn Film Festival. Even Hollywood is stalking by way of Darren Aronofsky, director of Black Swan, who is a big fan. The movie has been heating up this years indie circuit like gang-busters, and that’s good, Cool Curtis and company deserve it. But SOTB is a champion because it’s opening  up a lot of social discussion that could potentially lead to a better life… in The Bluff. Stay tuned…

Flirt with managers (the female ones. nohomo). If you were a MAC user back then you felt at home in the MAC store.

Once, while hanging out with this dude, in Atlanta, he mangled the drive in his brand new 1st gen macbook. So we went to the MAC store at Lenox Mall (on a Saturday), flirted with manager, told her the scenario and left it. We went crate digging at 2 fleamarkets, went to the Jamaican spot, stopped in Little 5 Points and when we got the call we headed back to Lenox and BAM!! Macbook good as new. The best thing about it…no charge. And that is no lie.

The MAC store isn’t such a good look these days. With the advent of the most stylin’ laptops ever and the iphone, the managers don’t flirt anymore (the female ones, no homo). They tell you to sign in and what not. The employees look beat down. Its just not the same. You have PC users with IPhones taking up all the time at the Genius Bar. If they just switched over to the big Apple syncing photos and contacts would be soooo f^%kn’ easy. But we’re going to stop right there… because at the end of the day the pornsites know no platforms, so we’re all in the same gang.
