OUTSIDE IN – The Story of Art In the Streets (trailer)

And now we have an Art In The Streets Movie. With the runaway success MoCA AITS, looking at the future, it shouldn’t be any any surprise if it slowly and tastefully develops into a brand. We say slowly and tastefully, because the potential audience will slice and dice through the BS like butter. Until then, the show is still on exhibition and the celebration is still popping.

OUTSIDE IN is a celebratory and historical look at street art through the lens of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s groundbreaking exhibition Art in the Streets. [Read more...]

NIKE SB x MOCA: Art in the Streets Paper Dunk Pack

Believe it or not at the entrance of the MOCA AITS Exhibit Hall there is a skate park that was built by Geoff McFetridge. The Nike SB Skate Team ripped said skate park from top to bottom Thursday night to coincide with a new Nike Dunk High which is being released in super limited quantities to be auctioned off to benefit the MOCA Foundation.

As Slamxhype reports, “Limited to 24 unique pairs and displayed at MOCA’s retail shop, they will be auctioned on May 26, 2011 starting at $100.00 with all proceeds donated to the MOCA foundation. The artists to contribute to the series of tees include Neckface, Futura, CR Stecyk III and skateboarder Lance Mountain.”

Futura2000: “New Works” / Paris

And here it is, just like we predicted. At the beginning of 2011 we saw Futura 2000 gunning the gate with full speed. For us, the collaborations with Clarks and 12ozProphet were dead giveaways that there was about to be something big. Featured as one of the top tier artists at “Art in the Streets“, he’s now gearing up for  his first solo exhibition since Odyssey Two in Berlin back in 2009, Futura has now targeted his iconic spray wizardry on The City of Lights. Outside of the fresh design collabs , the last time Futura the artist was in action was an awe inspiring NYC mural produced in collaboration with Os Gemeos last summer. The “New Works” Exhibition will provide the colorful Paris art world with a very rare opportunity to enjoy his legendary bodies of work in full scope.
