Art in the Streets…of MIA. In a day. P1

A couple of weeks ago I rolled into Miami on a Friday evening to produce a private event @ 10PM. Had to be on the road back to ATL by Sunday morning, so there was no time to waste. Caught the Puma Clyde Launch @ShoeGallery, From there headed to the Mandarin Hotel for the event, which ended way later than expected. Finally called it a wrap @ 4:30 am and headed back to the JW Marriot to cool out. @ 5:30 AM left Marriot, destination, Miami’s Design District.

Banksy x MOCA: Art in the Streets

Photography: Brandon ShigetaEven though Banksy stepped through MOCA as “The Artist Who Will Not Be Named”, It was pretty obvious which artist was occupying an entire room that consisted of all manners of sociopolitical satire and tom foolery. Whats even more interesting, is that even though he is in the exhibition, there must have been some sort of confidentiality/secrecy agreement. How so? Banksy’s name wasn’t listed anywhere on any MOCA collateral. To round round it out, when Jeffery Deitch introduced Banksy’s massive stained glass window, he didn’t mention the artist. [Read more...]
